Property Summary

*** Vendors comments *** "I bought the house when I started working at a large secondary school in Clapham. It was my first house, and I thought there was a lot of potential to make it a nice home. I had visited a few houses in the area and found this one to be much bigger, and the garden was big too. I also liked the fact that there were plants at the front, and I thought it would be a good way to keep some privacy. The house had to be entirely re-decorated, and that was also something I found exciting."

I have managed to refurbish the entire house when I bought it in 2017. Downstairs, the floor was replaced, the kitchen removed, the walls re-plastered, and a new kitchen was put in, including new appliances (dishwasher, washing machine, fridge-freezer, oven, microwave oven, and hob). A cupboard was built in the lounge where the new boiler was installed (end of 2022). The wall was opened up between the dining area and the office to create more light in the room. The external corridor was painted, and artificial grass was put down.

Upstairs, the bathroom was completely redone, including the floor (which is the ceiling to the kitchen), and plumbing, and all bathroom elements were put in brand new as well as new windows. The master bedroom and second bedroom were decorated, and new double-glazed windows were installed at the front of the house (including the downstairs front room). All doors were changed, including handles, and new switches were installed everywhere in the house (mostly with USB ports). I also replaced the main roof and flat roof in 2023.

I enjoy going to the high-street shops, which offer a very wide range of fruit and vegetables, as well as fish and meat. Tesco is open very early and closes late, which is very handy. Sainsbury's and its petrol station are 2 minutes away, so it's very easy to refill. There is a very popular Caribbean barbecue takeaway place near Sainsbury's and many different international takeaway shops on the main high street. I enjoy dining out at the local Turkish restaurant, which never disappoints. Crystal Palace and East Croydon are a quick bus ride away, and both offer lots of bars, restaurants, and cafes. I often walk to Crystal Palace; actually, it's very pleasant to walk through Grange Park and up Grange Road. South Norwood Park is also a regular spot for Sunday walks.".
