***Vendor's comments:*** Having seen it first as just a floorplan and finally getting the keys in 2017, spending the last 3 years creating our home in Amarelle have been the best of our lives; being our first home together it will always hold a special place in our hearts.

We were looking for somewhere to set up home with great transport links into central London which didn’t cost the earth. We also wanted something that was modern, light and finished to a high standard. Amarelle ticked all these boxes for us, plus many more. I think you’d struggle to find somewhere better connected, the Thameslink line into the city takes just 15 minutes to London Bridge or 30minutes to St Pancras. In the other direction Gatwick is just 15 minutes away. You can also get to Clapham Junction in under 10 minutes and onto London Victoria in less than 20 minutes. All this and the station is only 3mins away door-to-door (yes, we’ve timed it) and we manage to get a seat most mornings! Aside from getting into central London, East Croydon is a great spot in its own right. With Boxpark next to the station and a multitude of bars, pubs and restaurants on South End, there are so many exciting places to eat and drink; Chkn&Beer in Boxpark comes highly recommended! To even out the eating and drinking with some exercise, there are also the wide-open spaces of Lloyd Park and the Addington Hills which cover +250 acres just a mile from the front door.

For us as first-time buyers who work long hours, the convenience of a modern new build, and the services that come with it, have been a huge plus and we will be sad to leave these behind. Our flat really is the definition of a “turn-key property”. Everything is still pretty much brand new so there’s no need for any DIY or evenings spent stripping wall paper, weekends can be spent doing what you want to do guilt and stress free. The concierge desk also makes for an easy life as they take in deliveries so no more “sorry we missed you” cards from couriers. They can also hold a key securely for you which is useful if you enjoy the luxury of having a cleaner! You don’t even need to remember what day bin day is; the communal bin store, which is dealt with by the building management, is open 24/7 and just a lift ride away. There is a well-equipped on-site gym which is great for a workout and PT sessions are available with instructor Lawrence if you’re feeling brave! During this hot summer the outside space we have here has been a godsend! We’ve been able to have a BBQ or picnic in the communal gardens or just chill out on the balcony with beer or two watching the sun go down. A thriving community has also developed at Morello over the last few years, there are hairdressers, beauticians, and a baker who offer their services.

The flat itself is really bright and airy, with floor to ceiling windows allowing for plenty of natural light. Although there are only two of us, the two bathrooms (which have become his and hers, his obviously being the smaller!) have been great, we couldn’t go back to just having just one now. The insulation is marvellous, so much so that we have never turned the heating on in the winter but in the summer as with all flats it can get warm, and this is where the comfort cooling system comes in. On the hot and humid days and nights whilst friends and family are complaining, we’re able to turn on the cooling and the place is 18 degrees within 10 minutes! The second bedroom is a spacious double that we’ve used for guests and it’s also come in handy in recent months doubling up as a home office. It could also be used as a nursery.

The main reason we have decided to move now is the stamp duty holiday, which has accelerated our plans to move out of London and into the commuter belt in search of a step up the housing ladder in search of a quintessential family home.
