***Vendors comments*** "There are so many reasons not to leave Dorchester Court, I don’t know where to start. I bought the flat because as a purpose built flat, it is as spacious as a house and not chopped up like you might find in some conversions. All the bedrooms (recently decorated) are a great size and the living room is huge with separate kitchen and dining areas! But more than that, it is a really lovely, homely place to live. The community is really supportive and every summer we have an all day party in the communal garden. The community is there if you need them but noise levels are minimal because the buildings are so well insulated. We don’t live in each other’s pockets, that’s for sure.

There’s an estate manager who lives onsite who can help with anything to do with the buildings. He’s a godsend.

We have a lovely communal garden where all the kids play but we are also surrounded by green spaces: Ruskin Park is five minutes walk, Brockwell Park is ten minutes and Dulwich Common is a 15 minutes saunter.

Transport links are excellent. I use the 468 and 68 buses like my local taxi service as the stops are so close. The 68 takes me to Covent Garden or Holborn and Herne Hill over-ground gets me to Victoria in ten minutes. It also goes to Blackfriars and St Pancras International. Dulwich North station heads into London Bridge and the City.

There’s a shop over the road that sells everything you need and there’s also a great chippy. Sainsbury’s and Tesco’s local are down the hill and we have a fantastic farmer’s market every Sunday, which is in the pedestrian area outside Herne Hill station. We have a great family butcher, specialist wine shop, lovely bars, restaurants as well as pubs and we’re only ten minutes away from JAGS Sports Centre, where membership prices are really reasonable. And of course, there’s Brockwell Lido.

I’ve lived here for 22 years and am only leaving because my children have finished taking advantage of the excellent schools in our catchment area; the sought after Charter is the closest secondary school. My children are grown up so it’s time for me to move on a get myself something a little smaller".
