***Vendor's comments:*** "We bought this beautiful Victorian property in 1976 and have brought up our four children here. It is spacious and has many original Victorian features such as; high ceilings, beautiful banisters, ceiling rose, dado rails and picture rails. Another thing we really love are the big windows which let in a lot of light. We have had them all double glazed and added a double glazed porch as well so it is beautifully cosy in winter. We also added a bespoke conservatory, which is a great bonus.

The basement was a coal cellar when we arrived but we had the floor lowered to give more ceiling height and we tanked the floor and walls to prevent any dampness. We added a window to the front of the house and central heating. It is currently used as a music/games room but was our son’s bedroom/den for many years.

We love our garden too, which is not overlooked, and has many mature shrubs and plants. The large picture window in the breakfast room means we can enjoy it while eating inside or out.

This house also has ample storage much of which we have created by opening up into the eaves and adding fitted wardrobes.

Quadrant Road is very special to us because the people who live here are not just our neighbours but our friends too. There is a wonderful community spirit, which inspired us to petition to the council for a one-way street. This was successful andimplemented earlier this year. We also got together to design and paint a mural in an area, which was used, by some, for fly tipping. Since we did the painting, the fly tipping has ceased. We also petitioned for the council not to put in parking bays so thankfully there are no parking restrictions in Quadrant Road. We park our car on our driveway to create more parking for visitors.

Quadrant Road is very well situated for local amenities with bus stops and library within a 2 or 3 minute walk . The little park "Trumble Gardens" is about 5 minutes walk away and Thornton Heath Recreation ground is only a little further. We have many happy memories of taking our children to play in the parks. We also played tennis on the courts in Trumble gardens. There are many local schools and churches in the area and Thornton Heath Station is only an 8 minute walk away. Selsdon Park football ground (the home of Crystal Palace) is less than a mile away. We are also only a fifteen minute walk away from Croydon University Hospital and the bus only takes a few minutes to get there too.

With our large family, we have needed all the space but now they have all grown up and moved away. As we are getting older we want to downsize and move nearer to our children. We will miss our house and local community but hopefully another family will benefit from it and love it as much as we have done".
