** Guide price £475,000 - £500,000 ** "We viewed a lot of flats in Streatham and the surrounding area when we were looking to buy but fell in love with this one straight away. It was bigger than most others we had seen, was to the rear of the building so was nice and quiet and the fact it was split level really made it feel like a house. We still love the fact that we go upstairs to bed each night and have that separation from our living space. The history and character of the building was another plus point as it was originally built as a house (known as Herbert Lodge) but was used as a private school for around 80 years until it was converted to flats in the early 2000s.

The location was perfect as one of us needed to commute into Victoria which is possible from Streatham Common station and the other to Blackfriars/London Bridge which is possible from Streatham station on the Thameslink line. Both stations are 10 mins walk from the flat and there is also a bus stop right outside, with direct links to the neighbouring areas of Brixton, Tooting and Crystal Palace.

Streatham Common and the beautiful Rookery gardens and cafe are located just across the road. Some of our favourite things about Streatham are linked to the Common and Rookery such as the annual Kite festival, the Rookery Christmas fair and local the farmers market held once a month. The Bull pub (where we spent many happy evenings and weekends pre children) and Sainsbury’s are just a stones through away so super convenient.

We have completely redecorated the flat since moving in four years ago including a brand new bathroom, a major revamp to the kitchen, double glazed windows in the bedrooms, new fitted wardrobes, new carpets throughout and complete repainting. The building also had locked gates added about six months ago so now the grounds feel really private and secure. The internal communal areas were also decorated and new carpets put in less than a year ago.

We love the flat and the area and will be really sad to leave. Whilst living here we got married and our two children have been born so it will always have great memories and a special place in our hearts. However now we have (very recently) become a family of four feel it’s now time to move a bit closer to our families".
